Something dark is coming. I can feel it in my bones. The air is full of magical energy. However no matter how hard I try to figure out the source of the approaching danger I cannot point out its source. Not even with my newly acquired true sight. Settlements are changing hands every month on plains of the northern continent. Faction 9 is spreading like wildfire. But I don't thinkt that the danger is coming from conventional armies. It's something else. The girls can feel it too. They are getting very moody lately. They keep staring at the waves on the shore and playing with tiny whirlwinds. I think they are depressed. It must be the dwarven architecture. Nobody appreciates the barren walls of Baicstowe except dwarves. And maybe Shakaa, but he looks at them with the eyes of a tactician. He was asked to survey the city and point out where the new fortifications should be erected. It will be a huge undertaking but they are necessary to improve the city's defenses. I just hope they will be ready in time. We'll see.

Once again I find myself in awe of Celebrants marvellous stories, while I can only throw a couple of lines together to grab the 200 silver.

Ed celebrates an oceanside city.  And his Mexican villa there, with beautiful tile walls and floors, open courtyards, warm weather, a gorgeous view one way from the courtyard over the city, the other way looking over the ocean.  A place to teach his friends, and a place for his own researches.  This is a nice place.  He has been here longer than he expected, but he is learning so much from watching the inhabitants.  The oceanside peace is kept by truel.  The weakest faction rules, for no stronger faction dares attack both others.  The strong factions both strengthen every month, but this oceanside paradise will remain peaceful so long as neither faction either abandons the truel, nor strengthens much more rapidly than the other.  Fascinating.  Very expensive for the two strong factions.  But fascinating.  A pleasant place to teach and study awhile.

Thiti celebrates the conquest of Scrittel.  Or at least, she hopes she is celebrating the conquest of Scrittel.  More than a hundred Celebrants were sent after a handful of city guards; it is hard to imagine that they might have failed.  Thiti is a little puzzled where they all went, though.  No news from Scrittel, and no news from any regions bordering Scrittel.  This is unexpected.  Thiti hopes nothing went wrong.  Thiti does wonder about this comment in the Times that "a partisans ambushed guards but were unsuccessful."  Thiti is pretty sure there were no one but our friends and a handful of guards in Scrittel, so the seven score Celebrants must still be partying and celebrating their victory over the handful of city guards.

Oshana celebrates the new arrivals "Pioneers" and "Eye".  We shall hold a feast to welcome there arrival from the monster infested jungles to our northeast.

Balthazar wonders whether the wanderers have come from inside the earth, from over the sea to the west, through the monster infested jungles to the northeast, or through the secret, magical doorway.  Balthazar hopes there will be enough food for all of us this month; it is getting crowded here.

Ninmahal celebrates the new minor rank of Chieftain.  The celebrants are lousy with chieftains, each having shared suzerainty in some little biome.  Shared suzerainty?  How does that work?  The king is the king, right?  The celebrants have no king.  Ninmahal celebrates the disorder of Celebrant orders.

Observes Ice celebrates the absence of ice on Wretched Castaway's Island.  No sign of freezing this month, weather is the usual balmy antarctic winds.  Ahh.
