The fate of the Lost Kingdom is a cautionary tale that all others should hear. Be careful who you offende, be careful in your dealings with others, and be careful what you wish for.

The general was getting increasingly confused. Not one of the shafts in the underdeep led down, but there were persistent rumours of a deeper level. Did this mean there was a gate down there, or was it only accessible by powerful teleporters?
There was only one thing for it - time to find some mages powerful in the art of teleporting to teach the Children of the Four Wind's mages.
Children of the Four Winds (13)
There are rumors that somewhere existed special skills that could be taught named quartermaster skills.

Trade faction may train Quartermaster skill unit and then he may accept TRANSPORTed items from anyone within 1 hex distance from the hex containing the quartermaster. Quartermasters may also DISTRIBUTE items to any unit within 1 hex distance from the hex containing the quartermaster and may TRANSPORT items to another quartermaster up to 3 hexes distant. Of course not for free! Items with weight would demand payment for freight companies!

We will try to achieve something similar with the help of bureaucracy and advisors using just our regular men.

I hear some messages that people are fighting over land, silver and resources. will it matter when the devourer comes? Till this day I managed to live without any significant bloodshed. How long can this last?

"I hope you know, why you are going to be executed at dawn."
"Because I was trying to oblige to my patriotic duty and eliminate a decadent and utter useless excuse for an emperor. I would not have anticipated that you of all people would obviate the cleansing of the leadership of our empire, you must despise his decadent behaviour as much as we do."
"No my friend, the assassination attempt onto the emperor is only the cause as why you have been condemned to be executed. The root cause why you are going to be executed lies within your misjudgement of the situation."
"But, you do want the empire to be ruled by a strong and competent emperor? The emperor is a useless fat fool only interested in his magical studies and this ridiculous theater!"
"Indeed he is, thus he is not at all interested in ruling this empire. This is done by me. The emperor is nothing but a honeypot to draw in fools like you trying to end his live. I on the other hand will do anything to prolong the emperors live and keep this very convenient status quo."
"We should have tried to kill you, this is a farce and the empire deserves an emperor doing the name justice! The noble faction will not allow this to continue, you are nothing more than an upstart office clerk!"
"The empire does deserve to thrive and prosper. The emperor deserves to continue to think he is in charge and the noble faction deserves to keep occupying themselves with petty quarrels amongst themselves, expensive banquets and being utterly clueless. Since you will not tell them about our little conversation and I won't do so as well, they will continue keeping themselves busy with trying to kill the emperor and I will continue to rule the empire and execute one of you every now and then."

Greetings my Lords,
Kind reminder, the Silver Hand considers every faction as at least neutral. We don't want to do any harm to possible customers.
I would request to let our convoys cross your territories. They are identified as Silver Hand Convoys and are not dangerous, they don't stop to spy, steal or assassinate or do any harm to you. They just cross and deliver the shipment to the final client.
If you are interested in the shipment you see, instead of blocking or seizing it, please just contact us, we would be pleased to deliver the same kind of goods.
Free trade is good for global prosperity and will certainly sustain our defense against the Great Devourer!
Silver Hand (27)
If the enemy comes on in a great horde, as Orks are wont to do, then try to direct them into a narrow defile or enclosed space, such that their numbers work against them. Crowded together those at the front will impede those behind, whilst the push from the rear will prevent those at the front from retreating or finding a better path.

The construction of the roads was on track and soon, convoys of goods would run between cities to bring prosperity. Clients would be even more satisfied!

In and of themselves, corporations are neither moral nor immoral. Corporations are driven to increase profit and shareholder equity. According to the economic philosophy of capitalism, embracing self-interest to pursue profit and wealth yields positive social consequences and, hence, greater morality.

Following the corporate morality, pursuing rational self-interest and thereby increasing shareholder equity is moral; it is right; it is just.

The Corporation is born.

Ah, glorious rain! The men have been so parched, they simply lay on the ground with their mouths open. Fields of baked, dead dirt will muddy and bog down any advancement for a time, but the simple joy of water will replace any concern from that.

"Giblet, have you thought about what to study next after you have mastered dragon lore?" Shakaa asked the goblin at the dinner table.
"Giblet would like to learn how to summon demonses so dragonses would have friends to play with." Giblet replied with a smile. The room fell silent only Gnarl's coughing could be heard who had been sipping some wine that went down the wrong way.
"Interesting idea. I thought that you would be more interested in stuff like constructing cloudships or artifact lore. Why the change of heart." Shakaa said.
"Giblet likes dragonses and balrogses better." the goblin replied.
Gnarl cleared his throat and asked a question from Shakaa. "I don't suppose you have room for another apprentice?"
"Sorry. We are fully booked at the moment. Have you found another candidate with magic affinity?" the lizardman replied.
"No. I was thinking about giving magic a try myself." Gnarl replied.
"Really? I thought your opinion about the stuff we were doing was that it was too dangerous. What changed your mind?" Shakaa asked then looked at Giblet and continued. "Ahh, I see. Sorry, I can't help you Gnarl. We don't have the time to start teaching you magic and you said it previously that you did not have any talent for it. And Uthark needs you running the Tribe anyway. You are the most skilled majordomo I've ever seen." Shakaa said.
"Out of curiosity, what kind of magic did you want to learn? The protective kind?" Ryzzar butted in.
"I don't know. What's your most potent spell that allows me to get to the other side of the world in an instant?" Gnarl replied and glanced towards Giblet.

-"So you left Praindeer with 60 bags of grain, isn't so?"
-"Yes sir, but..."
-"SIXTY bags of grain!!! Bastards! Where is that grain now?! Sold, to get rum, used to pay for sluts, or what?"
-"No sir. We had only 23 bags. There is hell of a famine in Praindeer, those 23 bags was everything we receiwed from their governor."
-"So you delivered at least these 23 bags?"
-"No sir... Twenty of them we have eaten on the way to Ytsonch... Three bags of grain is all we have, unfortunately."
