"Message from the quartermaster, captain," the centaur said, her tail swatting idly at the flies that were ever-present on the shore.

"Thank you, loadmistress," the high elf mused absently as he cracked the wax sealing the parchment.

"Well, more things to add to the shopping list. Are you coming aboard?"

"No sir," she replied. "The wagons are headed back overland as soon as we unload and load."

"Then we'll see you in two months," he replied, before both of their heads swiveled to regard the source of a high ululating cry from the maindeck.

"What's that?" she snapped.

"They like to sing..." he started, before breaking off as the other hands repeated the same wail. When they stopped, he resumed. "We're a month's sail with the dawn at our backs from unloading at the Storm King's shore, and another overland from there to market where we sell the cargo and they make their bonuses. Keeps them rather focused on putting quite a lot of effort into the journey."

"And they'll row all that way?"

"If the wind is in our favour, they won't have to. But if not.. just listen."

The centaur bent her head to hear better over the coxswain's drumbeat.

"And on we sweep!
With threshing oar!
Our only goal will be the western shore!
Ah-ah-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah-AH!"
